Incandescent

I left my window open before I went to bed.

Slide on my fuzzy socks to warm my feet.

Then I went to the kitchen for a bite to eat.

When I got back to bed, the moon arrived.

It possessed my soul as its light shinned.

In an ardent motion, it crawled into my skin,

violating me with its luminescence.

I awoke without shame, fear, or fright.

But I still wondered why it chose me that night.
